Terrapin has been dancing bellydance for 11 years, starting under Aviva, and now Mystique in Daughters of the Desert, and now Desert Wind dancers. Workshops with Ariellah have a strong influence on her tribal style. She has a dance therapy degree from NYU, and has studied Modern techniques: Limon, Hawkins, Duncan, Improvisation with KJ Holmes, Pilobolus and Sandra Pearson. Many world dances have inspired her, and her dance is an evolution. She has performed at numerous nursing homes, libraries and fairs over the years, and was seen at Rakassah East with her solo 5/09. She is on the roster for Hospital Audiences Incorporated(HAI) in Manhattan.
Terrapin has been working in a school for handicapped children for 17 years as a physical therapist and dance therapist. She has provided workshops and prepared student shows at the Very Special Arts Festival and in the school assemblies and talent shows. She earned her BS in physical therapy in 1983.
